Excursion to Xàtiva

Yesterday, January 16, most of the students went on the school trip to a small town in the Valencia Province called “Xàtiva”.  It has a long history, just like most towns in this country.  It was absolutely beautiful and we were able to take a walking tour to see the historical sites.  After touring the town, we began the long hike up the mountain to visit the castle.  It was quite the workout, but it was completely worth it in the end once we were at the top.  We had an incredible view of the town and could even see the city of Valencia and the Mediterranean.

Standing at the top of that mountain was breathtakingly beautiful and the land around us so pure.  The United States has some incredible natural beauty and I love the old architecture and history on the east coast.  But, what the US has is not comparable to the beauty in this country.  It has an indescribable beauty from thousands of years of history and what that has left behind.  This excursion was even more encouraging to continue traveling and to learn about these cultures that have so much to share.  These pictures are beautiful, but do not do justice to the actual sight of this land in person.  I have no idea what the rest of this country or this continent have in store for me, but I for one cannot wait to find out.
