4:50pm (jan 12): ORD–>MAD: 7 1/2 hours… only 1 1/2 hours of sleep

7:45am: Madrid layover: 4 hours.

12:20pm: MAD-VLC: 40 min.

2:00pm: Met my house mother, María, at her apartment and my new home for the next four months.

3:00pm: Lunch and long talk with María to get to know each other.

4:30pm: María walked me around the city and showed me the best areas for shopping.

6:00pm: Organizing my room and relaxing in the apartment.

7:30pm: Small snack of “empanadilla de pisto” and a “cafe con leche” before dinner

9:00pm: Dinner with María

10:30pm: Finally getting the much needed sleep after caffeine pushing me through the long day of travel
